Nikolaos Verras

Nikolaos Verras is the Group General Counsel of Libra Group, providing legal, compliance, and regulatory advice to the Board of Libra Group based in its New York City headquarters. In 2013, he joined EuroEnergy, the European Union-based renewable energy subsidiary of the Group, as General Counsel. In 2020, Nikolaos was promoted to Group General Counsel of Libra Group.

Nikolaos has experience in the fields of corporate, contract, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and finance law within a wide range of sectors such as industrial, banking, and energy, including leading due diligence, review of contracts, consulting before public offerings, project financing and refinancing, asset and stock acquisitions and divestitures, spin-offs, and restructurings. Before joining Libra Group, Nikolaos was a Senior Associate at the Affiliated Law Firm of Ernst & Young, Greece, and a Legal Advisor at Chipita S.A., a Greek-based global baking business acquired by Mondelez International.

Nikolaos holds a LL.M. from Columbia Law School, an M.A. from Panteion University of Athens, and a LL.B. from the University of Athens School of Law. He is a solicitor in England and Wales, a qualified lawyer in Greece, and an accredited mediator.
