Libra Opens China and Germany Representative Offices

Libra Group is a privately owned international business group created in 2003. It comprises the diversified business interests of the Logothetis family that for the preceding 28 years had been focused exclusively on international shipping. Today the group controls 30 operating subsidiaries in 18 locations across four continents and is predominantly focused on five core sectors: shipping, aviation, real estate, hospitality and energy. With the group’s operating subsidiaries so widely spread it was felt that further commercial growth across is chosen markets would be facilitated by the creation of strategic regional hubs in mainland Europe and Asia.

The rapid expansion of Libra Group was made possible by the sale of a total of 67 vessels between 2004 and 2006. It was during this time that the group diversified its activities. Today the group planned expansion, particularly in the transportation and hospitality sectors will be aided by a presence in China and Germany.

The group owns a number of companies that fall outside its core business sectors yet meet its broad investment criteria. These diversified investments currently include a film/TV production company in Los Angeles, a construction company in Argentina, and a Greek agriculture business.
