New senior appointments at EuroEnergy
EuroEnergy, the Libra Group sustainable energy subsidiary with a major presence in Europe, has announced a number of senior appointments to its management team.
Thanasis Psathakis has been appointed Chief Financial Officer and takes on responsibility for all of EuroEnergy’s financial functions, economic strategy and forecasting. Thanasis has a wealth of experience in finance and accounting and joined EuroEnergy in 2016. His previous roles include Chief Accountant at Philips Hellas and Head of Accounting at Makro Cash and Carry Hellas.
Theofanis Mermigkousis has been promoted to Chief Operating Officer and will oversee EuroEnergy’s numerous project implementations. He is a trained engineer with extensive experience in design, construction and supervision of major projects and joined EuroEnergy as Senior Project Manager in 2010. He was previously with Private Consulting SA in Athens, a leading consulting firm specialising in large-scale business and feasibility studies in the energy and manufacturing sectors.
In addition, Voula Balari has been appointed General Counsel. This followed the announcement that former EuroEnergy General Counsel, Nikolaos Verras, had become Libra’s Group General Counsel.
Voula has considerable experience in the fields of corporate, contract and M&A law within the energy and industrial sectors. She has been involved in several M&A transactions in Greece and Europe, handling due diligence, corporate law, financing and refinancing issues. Her previous roles include Legal Advisor at a Greek law firm specializing in Finance Restructuring procedures, Legal Advisor at the Hellenic Bank Association and Junior Assistant at the Affiliated Law Firm of Ernst & Young, Greece.
Voula holds an LLM from the University of Athens School of Law, an MA in International Business and Finance from Panteion University of Athens, and an LLB from the University of Athens School of Law.
