Libra Group Enters Hospitality Sector

Libra Group has entered the hotel and hospitality sector with the acquisition of a collection of hotels, restaurants and banqueting facilities as well as an exclusive marina in New England’s Kennebunkport resort.

The properties will fall under a new Libra Group subsidiary to be named US Hotels. The company will focus on developing, acquiring, and managing diverse leisure properties and real estate in the USA. The current collection of properties is in and around the picturesque village of Kennebunkport on coastal Maine and include the acclaimed White Barn Inn. Dating from the US Civil War, the former Boothby Boarding House has been gradually expanded and refined over the decades to become one of the most luxurious and acclaimed hotels, restaurants and spas in the Northeast USA.

It was not until 1973 that the restoration of the inn’s barn into a restaurant was realized. Through meticulous renovation and attentive restoration the White Barn Inn and Spa has evolved into the Four Diamond property with a Five Diamond restaurant that is today.

US Hotels’ other properties represent the ‘best of breed’ across a number of service categories from luxury hotels and spas to family lodgings. The hotels are designed to be spirited, fun, refined and always memorable. The marina that is also owned by US Hotels lies in the mouth of the Kennebunk river and provides berths for some of the most luxurious private vessels in the area.
