Aamina, the strategic investment and Middle East arm of Libra Group, has opened a new office in Erbil, Northern Iraq. With a population of 1.3m, Erbil is the fourth largest city in Iraq after Baghdad, Basra and Mosul, and is the capital of Iraqi Kurdistan.
By establishing a presence in the north of Iraq, Aamina will be able to capitalize on the improving and increasingly prosperous economic situation in the region. It is an emerging market for both direct inward investment and international advisory services. Growing infrastructural developments and its important geopolitical focus have made Erbil a significant hub for the business, political and investment community in the Middle East. The Erbil office will be overseen by Aamina’s COO Mazen Turk, who has a wealth of experience in the region.
“This new office will help us to broaden our reach in an area where we see ample upside investments over the long-term,” comments Aamina CEO, Khaled Beydoun. “It is strategically and geographically important; we look forward to working with the key players in the region as it builds a new future.”
